If you choose this option, your FME Cloud instance will run for every hour throughout the year. This option will save you around 40% compared to selecting an Hourly Rate and letting the instance run for the whole year.
Hourly Rate
In the Time field, estimate the number of hours or days your FME Cloud instance will be running each month. (Note that for the purposes of this price calculator one day is equivalent to 24 hours.)
Here are some examples to help illustrate how much time you might need.
- Example 1 – Business Hours: You might schedule FME Cloud to be running between 9am to 5pm every day of the week to be available to your customers, which works out to 248 hours a month (8 hours * 31 days = 248 hours).
- Example 2 – Weekly Tasks: You might schedule FME Cloud to run every Saturday night between midnight to 4am for weekly data syncing or maintenance. This would work out to 16 or 20 hours per month depending on the number of Saturdays in that month.
- Example 3 – Quarterly Projects: You can run FME Cloud for 5 days in a row and then turn it off for the remainder of the quarter. This would equate to 120 hours one month and then zero hours the following two months.
- Example 4 – Ad-Hoc Projects: You have the flexibility to turn FME Cloud on and off as many times as you want a month to suit your needs, with a minimum of one hour each time. This could be as low as one hour or as high as 744 hours a month.

The more powerful an instance, the faster it will complete a task. While a larger instance may have a higher rate, it can also save you money depending on the nature of your tasks.
For example, if it takes approximately 4 hours for a Starter instance to complete a job, then it might be cheaper to select a Professional instance and complete the job in around 1 hour. With “Hourly Rate”, this example works out to a savings of over 20% (4 hours @ $0.90/hr = $3.60 versus 1 hour @ $2.80/hr = $2.80). Regardless of which instance size you select the usage costs will be the same.
However, if you have jobs on an intermittent basis, anticipate idle time, and are okay with waiting longer for jobs to complete, then it may be prudent to select a Starter instance.

Do I need the authoring environment FME Form?
Yes, FME Form offers a simple graphical user interface to author workflows for FME Flow Hosted. FME Form pricing is not included and can be found here.

Do you offer support plans for FME Flow Hosted?
Yes, by default all customers are on the Included support plan. Managed plans provide an enhanced level of support. Learn more about their differences.

How am I billed?
If you are paying hourly for the instance, then you will be billed monthly for the instance and your data transfer, storage, and backup costs. If you purchased an annual plan, then you will pay the up-front one time payment for that instance and data transfer, storage, and backup costs up to a cap are included with the instance. All invoices are charged in USD.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards. Annual Plans can be purchased via other payment methods.

Am I charged while the instance is paused?
You are not charged the FME Flow Hosted hourly instance costs. The only costs are the data storage costs as your data still persists on the disk.

What happens if I don't run my instance for a full hour?
All instances are charged a minimum of 1 hour for up-time each time they are launched. For example, if you run your instance for 40 minutes, you’ll be billed for 1 hour of usage and if you launch an instance twice within an hour you'll be charged for two hours.
