Bridging the Gap Between CAD and GIS

Peoples Gas is in the process of replacing much of its aging gas system as part of its 20-plus year System Modernization Program. As sections of the gas system are selected for replacement, engineers prepare standardized design drawings in Microstation to designate where new gas main will be installed and old gas main taken out of service. When the designs are complete, a set of FME workspaces running on FME Server automatically transforms and loads each drawing to the company's enterprise GIS. This presentation reviews the FME workspaces and how they are configured to work with FME Server's Directory Watch publisher.
