Big Cities, Big Dreams, Big Data Problems: Making Urban Design Tools Talk to Each Other with FME

As cities around the world witness unprecedented growth, the essential role of a master plan cannot be understated. Yet, even today, no single software tool truly meets the needs of Urban Designers and Master Planners, leaving us with disparate tools that do not work well together. This session will explore "real world" master planning workflows that migrate useful data between the design tools used at HOK, allowing us to meet our client's ever increasing expectations. Believe it or not, Revit, Rhino, Autocad, CityEngine, Sketchup and Photoshop can and will talk to each other via FME. If you have ever wondered how to geo-reference BIM data, transform 2d master plan information into a virtual 3d city, and get that 3d city back into BIM, then this is the session for you!
